    • ICT initiatives of MHRD to achieve the three cardinal principles of Education Policy viz., access, equity and quality. 
    • The courses hosted on SWAYAM are in 4 quadrants – (1) video lecture, (2) specially prepared reading material that can be downloaded/printed (3) self-assessment tests through tests and quizzes and (4) an online discussion forum for clearing the doubts. 
    • Courses delivered through SWAYAM are available free of cost to the learners, however learners wanting a SWAYAM certificate should register for the final proctored exams that come at a fee and attend in-person at designated centres on specified dates.

    • IITBombayX is an online platform developed by IIT Bombay, to offer Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for individuals from varying backgrounds. 
    • We specialise in Hybrid MOOCs which captures the benefits of flipped classrooms, online lectures, and live interactions with the IITBombayX course instructors.
    • IITBombayX offers four different types of MOOCs for various learning needs (EduMOOCs, SkillsMOOCs, TeachMOOCs & LifreMOOCs).

    • End-of-Course online tests and certificates are available for those who wish to test their expertise in a particular software. 

    • edX is the trusted platform for education and learning. Founded by Harvard and MIT, edX is home to more than 20 million learners, the majority of top-ranked universities in the world and industry-leading companies.

    • MIT OpenCourseWare is an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to publish all of the educational materials from its undergraduate- and graduate-level courses online, freely and openly available to anyone, anywhere. 

    • Coursera is a world-wide online learning platform founded in 2012 by Stanford computer science professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller that offers massive open online courses, specializations, and degrees.
    • Join Coursera for free and learn online. Build skills with courses from top universities like Yale, Michigan, Stanford, and leading companies like Google and IBM.

    • Udemy is an online learning and teaching marketplace with over 100000 courses and 24 million students. Learn programming, marketing, data science and …

    • Skillshare is an American online learning community for people who want to learn from educational videos. The courses, which are not accredited, are available through subscription. The majority of courses focus on interaction rather than lecturing, with the primary goal of learning by completing a project. 

    • Udacity, Inc. is a for-profit educational organization founded by Sebastian Thrun, David Stavens, and Mike Sokolsky offering massive open online courses. 
    • Work on practical projects, build experience, and advance your skillset as you learn. Access bootcamp-quality courses tought by industry pros from Google, FB, and more.

    • Open Yale Courses provides free and open access to a selection of introductory courses taught by distinguished teachers and scholars at Yale University. The aim of the project is to expand access to educational materials for all who wish to learn.

 

    • Stanford Online is an educational initiative launched by Stanford University which offers a variety of professional education opportunities.

    • ALISON is a free online education platform that mostly focuses on workplace-based skills.

    • Online classes in photography, art, design, craft & DIY, marketing, business, and entrepreneurship. Available on-demand 24-7.

    • Stanford Engineering Everywhere, or SEE is an initiative started by Andrew Ng at Stanford University to offer a number of Stanford courses free online.

    • Codecademy is an online interactive platform that offers free coding classes in 12 different programming languages including Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, Ruby, SQL, C++, Swift, and Sass, as well as markup languages HTML and CSS.
