Part1: “Copyright vs Plagiarism”

Outcome: Understanding the distinction between plagiarism and copyright infringement.

During this session, we discussed Copyright and Plagiarism, covering their definitions and differences. We also delved into the various plagiarism check tools available and provided detailed instructions on how to utilize plagiarism checking software. Additionally, we reviewed the rules and penalties associated with plagiarism, and discussed strategies for overcoming it, including the effective use of paraphrasing and tools like QuillBot, ChatGPT.

 

Part2: “Referencing & Citation”

Outcome: Understanding the importance of citing and different citation formats.

In this session, students learned about the significance of citing sources and were introduced to different citation formats such as APA, MLA, Chicago, IEEE, etc. They also learned how to reference using the Microsoft Word Reference Tab.
